AT SIMPA OPEN SUMMIT
I arrived at winneba at approximately 9:15am for the SIMPA OPEN SUMMITS SIMPA OPEN SUMMITS are a series of capacity building sections – workshops, seminars, summits, mock camps, conferences, etc held in Winneba and often at the Winneba Open Digital Village (WODiV)( ripped from their website ) and this year’s workshop is on wireless training which will run for ten good days.
This is a paid workshop so I’m hoping it doesn’t turn out to be the usual talk shops.
The key topics to be covered for each day are as follows:
- Introduction to Wirless Networking
- Introduction to WiFi Devices
- Building Local Wirless Routers
- Setting up and configuration wireless Local Area Network
- Installing Open Source software.
- Open source on wireless technologies
- Network securities
- Troubleshooting
- Bandwidth / Inernet Link Optimisation
- Managing your network
Will blog at the close of the day to keep you posted.

I’m a participant of the simpa open summit. It’s a worksop that would benefit participant but then only challenge we are facing now is the organisation of the summit. Most participants coming from far(Regions) are not happy with the accommodation booked for them, venue of workshop far from the hostel and other logistics issues. I think would have a negative effect on participants interms concentrating and following the whole process. Organizers should sit up and work on improving the situation. thanks

Hoped so too but was diappointed the day I arrived. Simple logistics were not there. Accommodation was just bad. But hey .. the first day was great … of course there were some few problems like no power points for our laptops .. and hey they did not have flip chart for the teacher to write on. These are all small small problems. Guess we can get over them. Expecting the best from this at all cost.
